1972 : founding of ALFA Klebstoffe AG, by Emil Simmler & Partner; the
production and distribution of non-polluting dispersion adhesives for
the packaging industry.
1976 : the expansion of our product assortiment - introducing hotmelts.
1984 : development of fastbinding adhesives for packaging machines.
1989 : development of non-solvent dispersion adhesives for foam fabrication.
1990 : application for patent of Simalfa® , generation1.
1993 : application for patent of Simalfa®, generation 2.
Breakthrough in foam fabrication industry with Simalfa® 308.
1994 : organisation of distribution network throughout Europe.
1995 : organisation of distribution network in Japan.
1995 : further development in the upholstery industry – Simalfa® 309.
1998 : Simalco – detachable adhesive for the paper industry is being produced.
1999 : takeover of the industrial adhesive domain of the former Sarnatech–
Tyro AG. Large amounts of dispersion blister varnish are sent to the
cardboard industry. Continual development of SIMALFA® 330.
2000 : development of the fast bonding dispersion adhesives ALFAST ®
for bookbinding.
2001 : the company is taken over by Thomas Simmler and Maya Bänninger–
Simmler.
Development and introduction of ALFAPLAN® for sheet lamination.
Introduction of new application technology : a rolling application for
laminating foam with SIMALFA® in Japan.
2002 : the 30th anniversary of our company and the construction of our new
production plant in Rafz – ready for occupancy in December 2002.
2003 : first year in our new location.
2005 : SIMALFA® 3083 was introduced at the Interzum; beginning of joint
collaboration as distribution partners in South Africa and Austrailia.
2006 : planning more storage and production space.
Beginning of joint collaboration as distribution partners in Estland and
the Phillipines.
2007 : enlargement of our plant in Rafz ( occupancy in August 2007 ).
Beginning of joint collaboration as distribution partners in Lithuania,
Russia and Egypt.
