Anniversary – 40 years ALFA Klebstoffe AG
Anniversaries are memorable events and for ALFA Klebstoffe AG 2012 really is a special year. The company was founded as a one-man business 40 years ago. Driven by the entrepreneurial spirit, Emil Simmler, plucked up the necessary courage and began the development and distribution of water based adhesives. That the adhesives were free of solvents would shape the history of the company.
The company grew steadily and has today nearly 40 employees in the departments of management, research and development, production, purchasing, sales and marketing. Resources and know-how have been developed and strengthened in all the different divisions. Co-operation with various customers and suppliers in Switzerland and abroad, meant that the company established an internationally recognized and well-known name.
With the launch of the SIMALFA® series, the company succeeded with pioneering work in the field of environmentally friendly wet contact adhesives. SIMALFA® is the world’s first one-component, water based adhesive with instant wet adhesion to bond foam and upholstery. Over the years, the SIMALFA® solvent free adhesive system for the foam processing industry established itself as an international standard for an efficient, ecologically safe and user-friendly adhesive application.
The company continues to focus on environmentally friendly products and a cooperative relationship with its contact groups for the future. As an integral part of the corporate philosophy, these objectives are a commitment for the future and the further development of the company, declares CEO Thomas Simmler.

Interzum 2011
Again, this year our environmentally friendly, waterbased one component adhesive SIMALFA® was one of the highlights at the show. The brand new developed SIMALFA® grades and the well established free flow system as well as the new designed spray gun SIMALFA® Primus were very well accepted by our visitors from all over the world.
ALFA Klebstoffe AG is free of phthalate in their products
Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP), a plasticizer frequently used until now in adhesives for the paper converting industry, is suspected of being harmful to health. The German manufacturers and processors of paper, board and cardboard have therefore undertaken to stop using products containing DiBP. To protect consumers in the long term, ALFA Klebstoffe has also changed and is since a longer period free of phthalate in their products.

Maintenance audit 2010
On the 8. January 2010, ALFA Klebstoffe passed again the maintenance audit ISO 9001 and ISO 14'001 with success.
On this occasion it was time to upgrade the normative base for the quality management to the new ISO 9001:2008.
Simultaneously, the environmental management system was also reviewed and therefore ALFA Klebstoffe now has the updated combined ISO certificate, valid until January 2011.

ALFA Klebstoffe AG new Member of FSK
During the "FSK Fachtagung Polyurethane", 10./11. November 2009 in Würzburg, the ALFA Klebstoffe AG was introduced as new member.
The "Fachverband Schaumkunststoffe und Polyurethane e. V." located in Frankfurt/M is here for the foamed plastic and polyurethane processing industry. In a network between european and national organisations, we take influence on political decisions and also guidelines and keep our members informed.

20. July 2009 - New LGA Certificate
Our SIMALFA Adhesives, SIMALFA 301 and SIMALFA 325 are now also LGA tested, with the result;
All limits and values are not exceeded and therefore comply with the requirements.

1. December 2008 - REACH Pre-Registration
ALFA Klebstoffe has already completed the REACH pre-registration by the 30. November 2008.
All products of ALFA Klebstoffe are preparations. As by REACH required, ALFA Klebstoffe as a swiss company, together with the european company TÜVRheinland Bio Tech GmbH. its Only Representant (OR), has pre-registered all relevant ingedients of our preparations in due time. www.tuv.com/biotech
We have received from all our suppliers the confirmation, that the goods delievered to us, respectively their ingredients, are pre-registred and also will be registered at the adequate date.

What is REACH?
REACH is the new EU chemicals legislation which is in force since June 1, 2007. It’s a system for the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. It aims to ensure a high level of
protection of human health and the environment from exposure to chemicals while enhancing the competitiveness and innovative capability of the EU chemicals industry. REACH will reverse the burden of proof.
The public authorities will not be any longer responsible for showing the hazardousness of chemicals but the industry (EUmanufacturers and EU-based importers of substances in particular) will have to demonstrate the safety of chemicals on the market.
Alfa Klebstoffe AG, as an innovative company in the sector of solvent free and for this reason environment-friendly adhesives, puts this work at the first place in his priority list. We ensure, that all our products will be available after the process of registration and that the relevant data is provided.

14. July 2008 - LGA tests passed
Our SIMALFA® Adhesives are tested by LGA QualiTest GmbH, for harmful substances within the limitations of the surveillance Contract in accordance with the requirements of certification of LGA's ecological product testing.
Finding: All limits and values ar not exceeded an therefore comply with the requirements
This certificate is valid until July 2010, however, expires immediately in the case that limit values do not comply with the requirements as laid down in the Contract of Surveillance.

January, 9th 2008 - Successful re-certification
On the 9. January 2008 ALFA Klebstoffe AG has passed successfully the third party certification. Now we're in possession of the combined ISO Certificate 9001 and 14001.
