After applying the adhesive on a substrate, the dispersion breaks down into particles, due to the drying of the water or through ist evaporation in the environs. The adhesive components then attract each other and build a screen, that enables the bonding of both parts.
Waer-based dispersion adhesives, are frequently used today as a substitute for non-solvent free adhesives, because they are at no fire or explosion risk and better for the environment. In addition, there is no release of solvents which could endanger ones health.
