Hotmelts are solid at room temperature and must be melted before being used. In use, the liquid hotmelt is applied to a substrate, and the receiving end must be glued promptly to the other. Immediately after the cooling off and solidifying process, hotmelts bond efficiently. This, in turn, saves valuable time in your production process, and enabling increased productivity. For home and hobby users, hotmelts can be purchased in stick shapes, for insertion in spray guns. For technical use, hotmelts are produced in sheet foil, granular material, pillows or blocks. The adhesive is then processed with a melting appliance and custom made nozzles.
Hotmelts are solvent free, but their application to heat-sensitiv material is limited, due their high temperature processing.
